Voices from the 26th Original-QRP-Contest (04th/05th July 2009)
---------------------------------------------------------------
Could take part with only a few QSO. (DK3BN)
No 80m propagation here during the day. (DL9HCW)
Murphy struck again. Personal performance reduced after running a tempera-
ture for 4 days. 80/40 gruesome, 20m quiet but vy QSB. (DJ5AA)
Had fun again, but was QRV only on the 2nd day. (DK8SX)
Enjoyed it though signals were weak due to poor conds. Unfortunately the
number of QRO stations has increased. (DM4TJ)
Intolerable QRN on 80m. Stretches of excellent signal strengths on 40m.
(DL1ARH)
Rather wilful conditions. Lots of QRN. Started 2hrs late because of thunder-
storm. (DL2BXC)
Tnx for nice contest. (OK1DZD)
It was fun for me. (PA7ZEE)
Conditions in general weren't exciting, but 1w suffices for EU. (DL1JGA)
Saturday saw good short skip propagation on 20m. (DJ2GL)
Station was set up under open sky, near the EU centre, and powered from a
solar panel. (DK0CEU)
Just in time for the contest the K2 stopped working, no output. The
culprit was the built-in automatic coupler. Disconnected the coupler and
installed manual antenna c/o switch - back in business. This contest is
fun. (DL1OD)
Conds very poor here, lots of QRM from switch mode power supplies. Don't
know were they are, but the noise is always there, also on 20 & 15m. 40m next
to unusable for me. (PA3CRC)
Thanks for the nice contest, I alway try to join, even if my antenna is
just a matched downspout. (DL4VBN)
Not too many QSO but maybe a few extra points for the stations I've made
contact with. Nice contest. (PA3BTT)
My first entry, had lots of fun. (DH1BBO)
It was fun making the 5 QSO. (PA1W)
Many thanks for this really high grade contest. (DL4MAQ)
vy QRN! (DL4HG)
Merci pour l'organisation de ce contest, longue vie l'OQRP contest et
vive le VLP! (F5ZV)
This time my endurance was higher, even though I had to creep into the
headphones occaisionally because of those conds. Was nice just the same.
(DF3OL)
Irregular breaks because of QAZ. But had fun again because band was quiet
in between. (DK3GP)
Couldn't do much this time, but wanted at least to be part of it. (DL1MEB)
I am very thankful to the managers of this nice QRP-meeting. I wish every
success and lots of fun. (DL7UWE)
I was only able to get on the band for a short time. (G3RSD)
Poor propagation on 20m, a lot of stations did not answer when I called
CQ or when I called them. Probably bcus of low signals from my SPATZ_20, but
spent several relaxed hours. Next time from same hill on the coast between
Zadar to Sibenik. (9A2ZH)
I was only able to operate for an hour, missing the best part of the
evening on 40m! (GM0OAA)
Relaxed contest. Was QRV from Pfaelzerwald this time. Enjoyed QSO with
well known old calls. Hpe cuagn, (DL2XL/p)
Good start on 20m bcus of Es. In compensation 40m abysmally poor. There
also massive QRM from DL-DX-RTTY-Contest participants suffering from
dyslexia concerning the 40m band plan in force since 2009-03-29. Much less
QRN on 80m than expected. (DK3UZ)
Part time attendance only - but I enjoyed it very much again! (DF2SJ)
All in all it was enjoyable, even though I felt conds not to be so good,
especially on Sunday. (DL3GER)
Thanks to all who worked me, look for me in OQRP 2010. (S51DX)
Only a bit of contest because I did not receive ur advise for the problem
here. I am waiting for the next contest. (I1BAY)
Condx bad, deep QSB, struggle to work stations, gave up at 1300 Sunday.
(G3VIP)
Despite fine weather and visitors I could spend some time on the contest.
No 80m antenna, this time the 40/20m vertical was at a distinct disadvantage.
20m conds very poor here in the north, calling there wasn't worthwhile. Yet
fun as always. Until next time. (DM5AA)
Had strong QRN so only my limited participation. Thanks for the contest!
(OK1MKX)
Began the contest with a Rock Mite, but it developed a fault. Continued
with my FT-817. (IK3TZB)
Bands were very very quiet this year - a bit tedious - but enjoyable as
always. (DL2SBA)
Many stations, better conds, lots of fun, but little time, hi. (DL1AVH)
Test drove a colleague's K1 while the VHF contest was on. (DF6FR/p)
The activity is good on the OQRP Contest. (HA8LKM)
Had fun on Saturday. Had the impression bands were crowded by another
contest on Sunday. Anyway, my antenna in the loft seems to get out
reasonably. (DL3OCG)
Could only be active for a few hours on Sunday and only on 80m. (SP2GOW)
Dr om mni tks fr vy gd pleasant time! (UA3AO)
Only a short entry this time. At first visitors called, then poor conds,
followed by a succession of thunder storms. Oh well, until next time then.
(DL3MBE)
After a few QSO Murphy struck, no rf from the TRX. Hope it all will work
again next time. (DL4KUG)
Some of the worst conditions I ever met, QRM and QRN on 80/40m, a lot of
QSB on 20m. The K2 had a very hard time. But I was happy to meet so many QRP
friends on the bands. (ON6WJ)
Enjoyed the contest despite very noisy conditions on 20m. (EI8FH)
Many tnx for you work and fb oqrp contest ON4ADR
I think condx were poor. (OK1AIJ)
High winds (>100km/h) destroyed my antenna a few days ago. No chance of
getting it fixed here in a camping area. Had a Microvert for back up, but it is
next to useless in comparision. With weather like this hash on the bands was
predictable. And several thunder storms made the headphones fly away, hi. Had
fun just the same. (DK2SH/p)
Poor propagation! (F8ALX)
Had lots of QRN on 40m. (HB9RE)
It is fun to work QRP and other VLP stations with my two homebrew transcei-
vers. (PA1B)
This time I used the FT-817 and let the old HW-9 have a break. Propagation
on 80 and 40m not so good. On 20m I managed better. Many thanks for the
pleasant contest. (OH7QR)
Good contest. Built "der Vierziger" QRP TRX especially for it. (DL1HSI)
Thank you for supporting such great QRP contest! (UR4MCK)
Sorry, had very strong local noise. (HA8LNT)
In a way jet lag after three weeks in W1, W2, VE3 & W5, household, a
friend's birthday, and the vhf/uhf contest left no time for the OQRPC. VHF
DX is more interesting than Europe on 80, 40 & 20m. (PA9RZ)
Again and again fascinating what can be reached with telegraphy and low
power. (DJ6UB)
I took part from my holiday QTH abt 15km from Husum. (DL1AAA)
The propagation conditions were fine, sorry could not participate on
Sunday. (OZ9KC)
Thanks again for a nice contest. Condx were not too good but some nice short
skip contacts were made on 20m. (OH5JJL)
80m quite good compared to 40m during the day. (DJ3KK)
Regrettably only a few QSO. (DM5JBN)
Conditions were bad and I lacked time. So I worked only 3 stations. (ON5JD)
Unfortunately I had time only on Sunday. But I got enthralled again. Once
learned CW is never forgotten again. (DL4LBB)
Thanks for nice contest! (DL9KWW)
I was really looking forward to this OQRPC, and had brought my HW-8 up to
spec with an af filter, sidetone, and fast turn around. Alas, the result was
disappointing if not frustrating. The reason: Another contest with QRO stations
blocked my RX, and after 1 + 1 QSO I lost my nerve and gave up. (DL2PM)
