         Operaters voice 25th Original-QRP-Contest (27/28-December-2008)
         ---------------------------------------------------------------

Next time I hope to have a better antenna. (OH1GYG)

Lost some time Sunday morning but worked far more stations than last
contest. (G0KRT)

Very few stations on 20m, worked stations with good signals (I1XSG)

Meagre result because of poor conds. Interference by OTH radar and another
contest. (DK8SX)

First contest after 5 years QRT. (GW0VSW)

I will do better next year! (F5RUJ)

After a lapse of almost 10 years I took part in an OQRPC again. This OT
had initial difficulties with contest-style operations, hi, especially as
conds were mediocre. (DK1WE)

Conds were very poor, heard no DLs. All stations I called showed great
efforts to complete the QSO. One could actually feel both sides' joy when
another one was boxed. (DM4TJ)

As always laborious for me. (DJ6HP)

Very poor conditions on Saturday, impossible to operate with my VLP station.
Better on Sunday, a shame that the RAEM caused QRM on 40m. (PA9RZ)

Each OQRPC one thinks conds can't get worse. This time everything was
different again. (DL1HTX)

Took it easier this time. About time for conds to pick up on the higher
bands. (DL0VLP)

Still interesting to work with QRP. A lot of fun as usual. Congratulations
to all VLP stations. Conds very poor. (ON3ND)

Only a short stint because of visitors. (DL9CE)

Was my rig defective on 20m or was it me? RAEM and OZ contests caused
extra activity. (DJ3XK)

I wanted to know how I would be heard with 500mW. Long-term loaned my
station to my son (SWL and CW fan). Soon he will have a DO call and QSO
on 80m. (DK5RY)

My new home-made 40m TRX still isn't finished. But I promise to get on
with it. (F/DL4IW/p)

Lots of QRO contest after a nice start made finding a free slot difficult.
But we made it just the same. (DL1JGA)

3 QSO on 20m, never heard so poor conditions. (F8UFT)

It was very difficult to work Germany, many strong signals came in here.
But only a few could hear me. During the last HOT Party it was only 80m
which gave me problems, but this time it was also 40m.  (OZ9KC)

Nice contest again, bad conds on 14Mhz. (PA0RBO)

A while since I last did it. Now 87 years old. (GM4BKV)

Thank you for many nice contest hours. (DF4FA)

Now again a log from me. (DK3BN)

From key to antenna, all home made. (DL2RT)

No 5nn contest! Meagre result, but more wasn't possible with 6 crystals.
(DJ2GL)

Many MP stations, maybe because of my mediocre antenna (26m ef) I only
heard stronger stations. A few VLP stations had impressive signals, they
must have excellent antennas indeed. (DL1ARH)

The large skip zone on 20m spoiled my plans. Worked only DL on 40m. So
80m had to make up for it. (DL7VPE/p)

A shame the lack of QSO on 20m, only weak conditions here. (DL9HCW)

Nice contest, but could only attend on Saturday 27th Dec. (PA3CRC)

Actually I intended to collect the remaining QSO for 1000/year in this
fine contest, but at 1030LT none but Russian stations were heard on 40m. But
again I met many friends. Powered up my old ASE 1302, and, lo and behold,
it worked on both 80 & 40m. But operating it took some getting used to.
(DL2DWP)

What does the O-QRP-Contest teach us? If you don't brave the tiger's cave
you won't catch his young. (DK9KR)

Due to strong hash I logged only few stations on 80m. (DO1UZ)

In the OQRPC I used an indvidual unique 80m-TRX built by myself. See
documentation on the web side www.sp3tyf.qrz.pl (SP3TYF)

40m QRP spot very crowded. sorry couldn't spend more time on the contest
had to take out my XYL on the Sunday. (G0WHO)

Rig is a Softrock V6.2 with DL-QRP-AG PA, surrounded by items I designed.
(DF5SF)

Made only 3 QSO. (DF2AP)

It was a completely new feeling to be fixed on one frequency by the quartz
stabilised Pixie2. The unselective direct conversion RX allowed hearing a lot
of stations simultaneously. Of course, the fun of each contact was much higher,
compared to using a more sophisticated rig. (DL7UWE)

This year I had the opportunity to have a serious entry in the contest.
Propagation very poor on 20m so I concentrated on 40 and 80m. Participation
not so high this year. I failed to find more dxcc multis. ATS3B is a terrific
qrp rig! (F6FTB)

Tied enameled copper wire to a potato, threw it over a tree, got the key
out, took part for a while, and had fun. (DK6JK)

Thank you for organising the OQRP contest. (DL4BCE)

My heartfelt thanks to all involved in preparation, organisation and
adjudication of this competition. (DK6NC)

Took part for real the first time. I had fun despite using only a makeshift
antenna. (DL7ULK)

With my 500mW I even made a few "more than 1000 miles/watt QSO" (hi). Had
great fun. Tnx for the activity in the OQRP contest. (PA1B)

Sri few QSO, poor propagation. (EA4OA)

I made a few QSO. (PA3GNZ)

The large skip zone on Saturday took me by surprise, worked almost only
EUs on 80m and very few DLs, but multipliers in compensation. Read only now
that those 9 hours break may be split - my personal bad luck. I had fun, and
I got to know my rig better. (DL7BD)

Family party curtailed participation. This contest's theme could have been
"QSB, QSB, and more QSB". Tedious it was, but I made over 10 QSO none the
less, hi. Why were there so few of us on 20m? The band wasn't really closed
for EU. My thanks go to the organisers, hny. (DF2OK)

I had lots of fun but only very little time, yet enough for 20 QSO, hi.
(DJ0MY)

This is the first time I entered this contest. Happy to do so with my
home built K2 #6378, which allowed me to work on 3 bands QRP with my Butternut
HF9V and its strange radial. (IK5XCT)

I only participated a couple of hours on Saturday evening on 80m. (PE2HD)

The contest was fun and a good test for my new Elecraft KX1 trx. (ON5AO)

Again it was fun to be among like minded. A pity conds weren't that good.
20m were a total loss here. (DL6AWJ)

Vy bad propagation (F8ALX)

Thanks again for organising this event. (ON6NW)

Conditions here were very poor for most of the day with high levels of
'local' QRN and I did not hear any stations on 80 or 20m with my loop.
However, it was good to give a few stations 'GW' as a multiplier. (GW0VSW)

A lot of energy in organising such nice contests! (OK1MKX)

Employing the 40m monoband "Mosquita" was a mistake. Never before I made
so few DL-QSO on 40m. No good, even around noon. Strange QSB-long distance
conds. But things can only get better. Cuagn next year. (DM5AA)

It was fun using the Blue Cool Radio in the OQRP contest. (HB9RE)

It was quite nice working with an expedient antenna from my holiday QTH
in Murrhardt. (DL2XL)

Conds weren't that bright, on top came an OZ-internal contest. Almost no
signals from DL on this band at this time, bad luck. (DL1JCA)

This year low activity. It has been fun as always (EA4CJI)

Deep QSB, poor condx. Tks for contest. (G3VIP)

First my thanks for organising this contest. It is simply pleasant to
take part in such a relaxed event. No strain, no-one who sees fit to send
40wpm. It was fun indeed. And, for a change, I had more time. A pity DL
contacts were difficult on Sunday morning.

Super contest! I'll surely take part again. (DK1AX)

My first e-mail log, I hope it will arrive correctly. (DK9NM)

Had lots of fun in only 45 mintes of participation. (DF5RF/p)

The first QSO with the just completed Mosquita 40. This "dwarf" works
amazingly well. Conds here in Potsdam "in the cellar" after 1700, mixed on
Sunday after 0900, 20m completely dead. But it was fun. (DL3GER)

Christmas visitors left only an opportunity for working 80m. (DK6AJ)

Vy strong QRM from local cable TV sri :-( (HA8LKM)

Much enjoyed contest with my new K2 rig, pity condx so poor on 20m -
nil prop to DL at all. (G3LHJ)

In many years never experienced so bad a propagation. Only few qso in my
log..sorry! (I1BAY)

Vy poor conds on 20m. (HB9DEO).

My prefered contest ! (ON6MG)

Unfortunately was not feeling well over Christmas (No not a hangover!) and
had visitors during the contest so not my best contest entry! (MI0BPB)

HF TRAMP is my own construction. Rx superheterodyne, H-mode mixer,
IF 5MHz X-tal 400Hz filter, LF 200Hz CW filter. Tx is CW class C.
variable output 0.5-5W, DDS VFO. Details: www.mlab.cz (OK1XGL)

Conds weren't good. Made only 65 QSO. Just the same, and as always, I had
great fun. (OH7QR)

Nice fun contest! I used an indvidual unique 40m-TX/RX built by myself.
Its output power was 1.0W. The TRX is from CQ-DL 1993, a superhet (IF 4MHz).
CU next time! (OH2MQ)

Nice fun contest! (PA3GFE)

Thank you for the contest. First day I have heard and worked nearly no one
and thought to give up. On Sunday it got better and I logged some contacts.
See you next time. (F5VBT)
